Police release 2 women after questioning

After a gap of a few days, another incident of attempted child abduction has come to light in Balasore District Head Hospital. After a disturbance was reported in the hospital premises at around 2:30 am on Tuesday night, the town police station took two suspected women to the police station and detained them. However, they have been released after interrogation.

The wife of Satyabrat Das of Bhograi area gave birth to a baby girl about a week ago and she is now a mother.

He is undergoing treatment on the fourth floor of the department. Satyavrat had filed a complaint of attempted theft of his newborn daughter late last night. Following the complaint, the police detained two women, one of whom was identified as the wife of a hospital cleaner. Police said that the two accused women were intoxicated. One of their relatives had given birth to a baby and one of the women had come to see the newborn.

He lived on the second floor of the children’s department and mistakenly moved to the fourth floor. No case has been registered as these were not child abductions, said Town Police Station IIC Vijay Kumar Das. It is worth noting that children were abducted from the children’s department of the main hospital in April and June 2024. A case was registered at that time and the accused was arrested. The fear of child abduction still exists in the minds of parents in the Balasore main hospital.
