Girl’s gold chain stolen from her arm , Betanati, 12/4 (Apr):

A young woman from Dudhusola village under Nayagram police station in West Bengal, was going to her maternal home in Nangalaka village under Krishnachandrapur Pandi when a young man came from behind on a scooter and attacked her with a chainsaw at the Suredihi sports ground. The police also tried the accused on Saturday afternoon in the incident of trying to snatch the young woman’s gold ornaments. The arrested accused is Lucky Naik (28), son of Vikram Naik of Nangalaka village. . Accused court trial According to the complaint of the young woman, when she was going to drop her son off for tuition on a scooter, the accused Lucky (OD-11R-0403) came on a scooter at the Suredihi sports ground and stopped her. He showed his bracelet and demanded a gold chain and threatened to cut off her head and end her life if she did not give it. When the young woman protested, the accused stabbed her with his bracelet, causing her to bleed. When the young woman screamed, the accused stabbed her again with his bracelet and tore off her gold chain and beat her from the spot. The young woman was rescued and admitted to Krishnachandrapur Hospital. The police registered a case on 118 and arrested the accused and produced him in court on Saturday afternoon. After being denied bail, she has been sent to judicial custody.
